Code of Conducts

This Code of Conduct outlines the principles and standards that guide our interactions and collective efforts.
1. Confidentiality:
Privacy: Participants must respect the privacy of fellow members. Personal information should not be disclosed to external parties without permission. Personal information includes, full name, email address, phone number, passport/ID number or any other personally identifiable material / information.
2. Respectful Communication:
Professionalism: Participants must communicate with respect and professionalism at all times during the meeting.
3. Inclusivity and Diversity:
Respect Differences: Embrace diversity of opinions, backgrounds, and experiences. Treat all members and stakeholders with fairness and respect.
Inclusivity: Strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued regardless of their background, gender, ethnicity, or beliefs.
4. Collaboration and Teamwork:
Supportive Atmosphere: Foster a supportive atmosphere where members collaborate effectively, share knowledge, and work together for the betterment of the technical community.
Constructive Feedback: Provide feedback in a constructive manner, focusing on the issue at hand and offering solutions where possible.
5. Ethical Conduct:

Integrity: Act with integrity, honesty, and transparency in all interactions related to AFNOG and its initiatives.
Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may arise and act in the best interest of AFNOG and the community.
6. Adherence to Policies and Laws:
Compliance: Abide by all applicable regulations, and AFNOG policies in your activities related to the committee.
7. Continuous Learning and Improvement:
Professional Development: Commit to continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of network administration.
Committee Improvement: Provide constructive suggestions for improving the functioning of the committee and AFNOG’s initiatives.
8. Enforcement and Reporting Violations:
Reporting Violations: Anyone who witnesses a violation of this Code of Conduct should report it to the AFNOG1 leadership team.
Enforcement: Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which can include temporary suspension or permanent removal from the future events, depending on the severity and recurrence of the violation.
By adhering to this Code of Conduct, participants contribute to the creation of a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment, enabling us to fulfill our mission effectively.
